You’ve found a place where history is dealt with in many different ways! I’m an archaeologist, crafter and pedagogue/teacher, and document my projects outside work on this page.
The page is still under construction, but have a look around and see what’s new!
The Austen Advent CalendarInspired by the fabulous Drunk Austen crew, in December 2019, I’ll join in the watching of BBC’s Pride & Prejudice (the ’95 version), with one episode each day in December up to the 24th, which is when we celebrate Christmas in Sweden. All things Austen nerdy might appear in these blog posts!
The Iconic Viking Dress Project A project in 2017 where interpretations of small silver figurines from Birka resulted in one human-sized and one doll-sized Viking Age female outfit – without the apron dress! I present some of the experiments I made in this project, which are, amongst others, warp-weighted loom weaving, fermented dyes and Viking Age hairdos.
The Historical Closet ProjectThe historically plausible mix with the historically inspired and the historically experimental – but it’s all about clothes! The word “closet” is used for everything between walk-in closets, to toilets, to small spaces not necessarily intended for clothes. The Historical Closet Project will reflect something of that variety when it comes to time periods or accuracy levels – but it’s mostly for fun, and mostly blog posts!
