Classic presentation: Formalities
I’m an archaeologist (MA), museum educator and historical crafter, and I’m also studying for a second degree in extended education.
Classic presentation: Trivia
I use my driver’s licence much more than I use my diver’s licence.
I’m a vegetarian who likes to work in the tannery.
The majority of my jobs have been very outdoor-ish, non-sitting jobs. I’ve come to look at that as a kind of job benefit. Although during storms it’s easy to look at the indoor jobs as being very beneficial too…
Why Hol History Projects?
Several things at play here: Hol is my family’s farm name, from a tradition that people were named after the farms they came from in county Dalarna, Sweden. History is because I’m interested in it (simple as that!). Projects is because I have a few ideas to try out, and this is a place for them to gather and get documented.
The Hol History Projects could also be seen as a play with words for the Whole History Projects. I like the idea of combining practical knowledge and experiments with theory and archaeological finds to give a fuller version of history and our understanding of it.
That being said, sometimes I will cut corners, due to time, costs, availability of materials, and life in general. I’m mostly doing these projects in my spare time and for fun – but I will tell you when and where the corners are cut!
